The GGF Skilled Pathways Scheme will set a clear career pathway that will attract new people into the sector including those leaving school and college. The training funding will be based around the GGF Glazing Manual which contains the industry’s most accurate and up to date technical information and guidance. The GGF has set the following criteria for companies taking part in the Skilled Pathways Scheme.
The scheme is open to all eligible companies*, with a requirement for commitment to specific criteria. The criteria includes a commitment to recruiting new individuals into the industry, such as school and college leavers and those from different sectors. Additionally, the employer must provide a mentor to support the trainee, allow time for off-site training courses, pay the trainee during the training period, and provide the necessary time for the trainee to complete their training.
*GGF members receive a 50% funding contribution, to receive GGF funding, trainees must have a mentor who guides them through their training and qualifications.
The payment plan is staggered over a 24 months period and is based on the milestone completion.
