GGF Wales Launch
Ann-marie Waugh
Our new GGF Wales regional group was successfully launched at a dedicated event in Powys, on Tuesday 7 July.
GGF members, member benefit representatives and GGF staff made up the 27 delegates who descended on the Elephant & Castle Hotel in Newtown, in glorious sunshine, for a positive and productive inaugural meeting.
Bringing together both North and South Wales regions as one united entity, the dedicated Welsh faction will focus on the unique requirements of GGF members operating in the country.
GGF Wales aims to deliver the bespoke representation and support necessary to help Welsh businesses navigate the legislation and regulatory framework specific to Wales as a devolved nation within the UK.
Working with the region’s newly appointed Chair, Alan Swift of Conwy Valley Windows and Vice Chair, Jason Powell of Victorian Sliders, as well as the wider Welsh membership, the GGF’s aim is to build a stronger Welsh network, encourage greater collaboration and better-serve the needs of Welsh glass and glazing businesses.
As well as valuable networking opportunities with businesses from across the Welsh supply chain, the launch event provided expert advice, technical support and guidance, with representation from GGF Group organisations including GGF Training, FENSA, RISA and BFRC.
Kevin Jones, Head of Technical at the GGF, also delivered an informative presentation on the latest Welsh regulations and standards to help keep members informed.
The successful establishment of GGF Wales cements the GGF’s commitment to helping the Welsh glass and glazing industry thrive and we look forward to working closely with our members in the region to strengthen our relationship even further in the future.
The next GGF Wales regional meeting will take place at Victorian Sliders at their Ammanford premises in South Wales. Date TBC.
